This set comes after our Level 2 (sh, ch, th, wh, ck) and Level 3 (blends) decodable readers. Every sound in it is new: ng, qu, tch, dge, kn, wr, the ending blends -nt, -ft, -lp, -lk, -sk, -nch, the blends pr and tw, and the 3-letter blends str, spr, scr, spl, thr and shr.

Every word in every book is a short-vowel word your child can sound out with the skills taught so far (CVC words, sh, ch, th, wh, ck, common blends and the sounds from earlier books in this set), or one of a few tricky words (like the, a, is, has) shown on page 2 of that book. We checked every single word of all 20 books against these rules before release.

HOW TO USE
• Follow the books in order, one or two a week
• About 10 minutes a day: say the new sound, read the words first, read the story, answer the questions
• Re-read each book until it sounds smooth, then color a star and mark the tracker
• Give the certificate when all 20 books are done
HOW TO PRINT
• Print the book pages (pages 2-21) single-sided, landscape, at "Actual size" or 100% (not "fit to page")
• Regular printer paper (20-24 lb / 75-90 gsm) folds best
• Fold, make one short cut on the dashed line, and fold into a book - picture steps are in the guide
• Print the parent guide (pages 22-29) in portrait
