HOW TO USE
• Build: students copy Steps 1, 2 and 3 with pattern blocks
• Extend: they build Step 4 and Step 5 next to the mat
• Explain: they say or write the rule
• Grades 2-3: use the mini cards and the count table to predict Step 10
HOW TO PRINT
• In the print window choose "Actual size" or "100%" (not "Fit to page"), then the printed blocks match real pattern blocks. Measure the 1-inch check square to be sure.
• Card stock 65-110 lb (175-300 gsm) lasts longest. Laminate the mats or use sheet protectors and a dry-erase marker.
• The black & white files look great on colored paper.
