Left-Handed Cursive Handwriting Workbook
Category: Education / Handwriting Practice
A printable cursive workbook built for left-handed kids in Grades 2 to 5: upright letters, direction arrows and models on the right of every line. A4 and US Letter.
Finally, a cursive workbook where a left-handed child can see the letter they are copying, write without twisting the wrist, and finish a page without a smudged hand.
Most cursive books are made for right-handers: the letters lean to the right and the model sits on the left, exactly where a left hand covers it. This workbook was designed for the left hand from the first page.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
• 1 ZIP file with 3 PDFs inside
• Left-Handed-Cursive-Workbook-A4.pdf (A4, 210 x 297 mm, 61 pages)
• Left-Handed-Cursive-Workbook-US-Letter.pdf (US Letter, 8.5 x 11 in, 61 pages)
• PRINT-GUIDE.pdf (which file to print, how to print, words explained, terms of use)
• Each workbook has a cover plus 60 pages. The two sizes are separate layouts, not one file stretched.
WHAT'S INSIDE THE 60 PAGES
• 2 pages for parents and teachers: paper position for lefties, pencil grip, smudge tips, and a slant guide (upright or a slight left lean are both correct)
• 26 lowercase pages, one letter per page
• 26 capital pages, one letter per page
• 4 joining pages: letter pairs, short words, longer words, sentences
• 2 pages for writing your own name and your own sentences
ON EVERY LETTER PAGE
• A large model letter with a green start dot and orange direction arrows
• Numbers that show when to lift the pencil for the next stroke
• Row 1: dotted letters to trace
• Row 2: pale gray letters to trace
• Rows 3 and 4: free writing
• A solid model at the RIGHT end of every line, where a left hand never covers it
• Top line, dashed midline and baseline on every row
• The letter used in a real word or name, and a short lefty tip
THE LETTER STYLE
• Clear traditional American school cursive, the kind taught in US classrooms
• Shown upright instead of leaning right, which is more comfortable for a left hand
• Lowercase, capitals and joins all use the same consistent letter shapes
PERFECT FOR
• Left-handed children in Grades 2 to 5 who are learning cursive
• Homeschool handwriting lessons
• Teachers and tutors who want pages that work for the lefties in the class
• Older left-handed beginners who want large, clear models
HOW TO USE
• Read the two parent pages first and set up the paper and pencil
• Do one or two pages a day, about 10 minutes
• Lowercase first, then capitals, then joining letters, then name and sentences
• Reprint any page whenever a letter needs more practice
HOW TO PRINT
• Unzip the download and open the file that matches your paper: A4 or US Letter
• Print at Actual size (100%), single-sided
• Plain white paper, 80 to 100 gsm (20 to 24 lb), works well
• Color is best for the green start dots and orange arrows; black and white also works
• Tip for lefties: use loose pages or bind at the top, not on the left edge
