Number Reversal Practice Kit
Category: Education / Math Worksheets
A 5-minute-a-day printable kit that helps K–1 kids write 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 the right way, with green start dots, arrows and memory sentences.
Five calm minutes a day to help a child write 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 the right way round. Every number starts at a green dot, follows numbered arrows, and comes with a short memory sentence your child can say while writing.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
• 1 printable PDF: cover + 20 pages, US Letter (8.5 x 11 in)
• 1 PRINT GUIDE (PDF): printer settings, which pages to print once and which to repeat, how to make the desk strips last, and answer keys
• Both files come in one ZIP file
INSIDE THE 20 PAGES
• Parent & Teacher Guide: why young children reverse numbers, and a simple 5-minute daily routine
• Number Formation Chart 0–9 with green start dots and numbered arrows
• 2 cut-out Desk Strips (0–9 with start dots and counting dots)
• 7 practice pages, one each for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9: big model number, an original memory sentence with a simple picture, a dotted tracing row, a writing row with start dots, and "circle the ones that face the right way"
• 3 Number Detective pages: find and circle the backwards numbers, then write them correctly
• 2 Tricky Pairs pages: 6 and 9, 2 and 5
• Teen Number Order: 12 or 21? 16 or 61? Circle the number that matches the word
• 2 Mixed Review pages: write 0–9, then 1–20, in boxes with start dots
• 10-day Progress Tracker (color a star) and an "I can write my numbers the right way!" certificate
DESIGNED FOR LITTLE HANDS
• Clear, simple school-style numbers: a one-line 1, an open 4, a 7 without a cross line, a simple 9
• Every backwards number is a true mirror image of the same handwriting, so children compare like with like
• Wide writing lines with a dashed midline
• Black and white to save ink. Only the start dots are green
• One short instruction with a picture icon on every page, and very little decoration so children can focus
PERFECT FOR
• Parents of kindergarten and 1st grade children who write some numbers backwards
• K–1 teachers, intervention and RTI groups, tutors and homeschool families
• Occupational therapists and school-based OT sessions (OT-friendly practice pages)
• Morning work, math centers, homework and summer practice
HOW TO USE
• 1 minute: trace a few numbers on the Formation Chart with a finger
• 3 minutes: one number practice page. Say the memory sentence out loud together
• 1 minute: a Number Detective row or a Tricky Pairs row, then color a star on the tracker
• Keep a Desk Strip in front of the child all day
HOW TO PRINT
• Print on Letter paper at "Actual size" (100%). On A4 paper choose "Fit to printable area"
• Print in color if you can so the start dots stay green. Black only? Touch each dot with a green marker
• Card stock for the desk strips and certificate. Laminate the strips or cover them with clear tape
• Reprint the practice pages as often as you need, or slide them into a sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker
